What was your training like before you joined SW7 Academy?

My training was quite limited and when I did train I was doing more HIIT classes. It did feel like I was putting a lot of effort in without seeing the results, my knowledge around training was limited and specifically the nutrition to aid that. When I did go to the gym I really was making the programme up myself, I wasn’t confident in the process and in hindsight was certainly neglecting some areas of my body such as my legs.

 

What was it about SW7 Academy that appealed to you and why did you choose the Academy to help with your health and fitness goals?

I first came across SW7 Academy on Instagram and found the videos educational.  I could see the engagement and value you were providing to people. It was quite thought provoking and the videos gave me some fresh new ideas to implement into my training.

With Sam Warburton's sporting background the insights and experience he gathered from being a professional athlete, he is the type of person you are going to listen to, trust and learn from in the online fitness space.

I initially joined the Train Online membership at £24.99 a month and really enjoyed the sessions. From day one it completely changed my training and thinking process entirely. I still did the odd HIIT session but learned to love my resistance training sessions and from following the over 30’s plan I was seeing much better results.

At the age of 50 I felt like I just needed something a bit more tailored and something that can be built around my needs hence I joined the Signature Programme. It wasn’t that I wanted to move a huge amount of weight but I just wanted to move and feel better in myself. I am someone who needs motivation and a pat on the back from time to time and having Sam Gasston as my coach has certainly provided that and kept me on track. Having that accountability has been invaluable and apart from going on holiday I haven’t missed one session in the 15 weeks I have been on the programme.

 

What results have you achieved on the programme?

Results are everything and they have far exceeded any expectations. I’m now fitting into a pair of 30 inch jeans which I haven’t done in 20 years, I am receiving compliments from friends and family on how good I am looking, for me it’s not about being bulky I just want to move and feel good which I do. At my age it’s given me such a boost and I just feel so much younger in myself and I can do things that I couldn’t do before.

I really like the flexibility of the service, when I first joined I was having weekly calls with my coach but now I’m checking in every few weeks. There was a lot of hand holding to start off with but now I am much more confident in the process. I used to be in the services so I like having structure and accountability, SW7 Academy has given me that. Don’t get me wrong I’ve had to put in the work but it’s paying off!

 

Would you recommend SW7 Academy to a friend and why?

Without a shadow of a doubt, it’s changed my life in 15 weeks, I can see how it can change other people’s lives too. People might think SW7Academy is just for aspiring athletes but it’s much more than that. If you want to improve your appearance and improve your mental wellbeing I would strongly recommend joining.
